This will go down as the biggest, most expensive overreaction in history.

Yeah, probably.

But at scale, this thing moved pretty quickly, so even with that low fatality rate it means a fairly large number of people will have died.

Fear drove this thing, though.

While I agree with this, it's easy for us to say that now in hindsight. No one knew it would turn out like this. Imagine if it ended up being the actual next plague and we didn't do anything.

Now let's get shite back to normal ASAP!

Meh, Our economy has definitely taken a huge hit. Don't get me wrong. But this thing has still killed 100k people here and counting. I don't know how you can look at that # and brush it aside as no big deal

IMO that would be 9/11. We spent more than $6.5 trillion on two wars to avenge fewer than 3,000 deaths. By contrast, COVID-19 has killed almost 100,000 people. If 3,000 people were worth $6.5 trillion, then 100,000 people would be worth $216 trillion.

By that logic, we have underreacted to COVID-19.

If so, then its far worse than just a very expensive overreaction. It will prove very damaging to any future serious pandemic that may come in the future where people really need to be very concerned, and like the boy who cried wolf, people will not take it seriously.

Without a doubt. Anyone with a half functioning brain can see this is all a big nothingburger. Stats don't lie.

With each newscast release of doom and gloom, libtards would huddle together in a corner and jack each other off.
