Greg Rosenthal (NFL.com) says Saints roster is best in NFL

The depth of this roster can best be seen on defense. The Saints have backups at defensive tackle, cornerback and safety who would start on many rosters.
The depth isn't quite as strong at defensive end, but starter Marcus Davenport reminds me of a young Jadeveon Clowney and he's poised to make a third-year leap.
Safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson isn't listed as a starter here, but the team will have to find a way to get him on the field after a great rookie season.
The linebacker group is worth watching in camp. Demario Davis leads the group, but there should be an open competition for snaps between Alex Anzalone, rookie Zack Baun, Kaden Elliss and Craig Robertson.
The Saints get my vote for the best roster in football, although the 49ers are close. This would be their fourth straight year as a top-five regular-season team, a stretch of sustained excellence they didn't accomplish even during Brees' peak years. That makes the pressure even greater to convert the talent into playoff wins.

Drew Brees gotta ball out in the Playoffs for the Saints to win it all.

I’m going to be in the Dome this season.

Excluding Clowney’s rookie year because he missed pretty much the whole season, they both had 10.5 sacks through their first two mostly full seasons. Though Clowney had way more TFLs.

Hopefully Marcus can shake the injury bug. It would really suck if he ends up being one of those players with nagging injuries every season. Which he has been for his first 2

Yeah Davenport is nothing like Clowney... he actually has more than twice as many sacks in his first two seasons as Clowney did

Could be our greatest roster ever

It probably is. It would be a perfect roster if we found a legit backup outside CB. That's really our only hole on the roster. Some teams have like 20 holes.

Mother of God we need to win a title this year.

Yeah I've been saying the same
No way they don't add another veteran corner
Must be waiting for the price to drop on some of these guys

Well you're talking about a guy who took 1,300 snaps vs. one that took 950. And the difference isn't that great when considering that: 24 to 11.
But you can flip that and point out Davenport has had more QB hits at 28 to 25.
Again, considering the snap counts, that shows he is getting to the qb at a higher rate and/or taking more passing down snaps.
And Clowney has yet to have a double digit sack year yet people hold him as if he's one of the best pass rushers around.
I don't think it's that crazy to compare the 2. Davenport has the talent to be that good, and possibly even better. But he can't prove that if he doesn't get the snaps/can't stay healthy.

Too bad that the Refs control the games, not the rosters.

Having the best roster in the league doesn’t amount to shite it you choke to the likes of Keenum, Cousins, and Goff in the playoffs.

Da fuq? Robertson will only sniff the field on special teams and injuries to the first 3. He ain't competing
