I also love how skeptics were "wrong" in Nov 2016 because a year and a half later, we got a grad transfer QB from Ohio State with 2 years of eligibility that could play right away (i don't think people appreciate how fortunate and rare having both was)and he turned out to be a super stud. So i guess per the OP since something like that is possible though unforeseeable we shouldn't have expressed any criticism or concerns along the way?

I think i'm more optimistic that you about the direction, especially if Brenna (Miles recruit ) pans out, we currently have much better prospects committed/signed than any time since Saban signed JR and Flynn.

i'm not that pessimistic for now. i think we should be fine next year unless Brennan gets hurt or Bo P is really out of his element as DC in the modern game. not too worried about either

if we go 9-3 without those issues? yeesh

1 I love how you guys always escape praise for landing burrow like it was some automatic thing.

Reality is, they pinpointed him & had to recruit & sell the guy. Knowing what they had wasn’t good enough. The notion that he just got lucky & landed burrow is and always will be an inaccurate narrative to what exactly went on.

2ndly, you say “just how rare it was”..,.well really, it’s not all that rare anymore to piggy back off of a transfer. Oklahoma has done it multiple times & reached the CFB playoffs. Ohio state, Florida state, Auburn have all dipped. I mean it’s really not all that rare. It’s actually has been a pretty safe bet for success for teams ready to win now.

If you recall, Brennan decommited after Miles was fired & had to be re-recruited

He followed Etling. Doesn’t Ohio State have the same setup? Oklahoma has had about twenty in a row. How rare is it?
