I agree with you. Parents sending their kids to public schools when they can afford better private ones because they want their kids to have a more diverse experience isn’t virtue signaling.

I know you’re being sarcastic, but what that also does is it minimizes the incentive to be a good parent.

This is about as Karen as it gets

They can then use those resources to set up their own child’s life in ways that give them the best education, the best health care, all the best things. And we have this collectively agreed-upon idea in our society that being a “good parent” means exactly that—providing the best opportunities you can for your own child.
But then some of these parents are also people who believe strongly in the importance of diversity and multiculturalism and who want to resist racial inequality. And these two things are sort of at odds with one another.
I think she's specially targeting the northern rich white liberals who think they know what's best for everybody else but not necessarily pertain to them.

I'd bet large sums of money she comes from large sums of money.

Are y’all sure we aren’t making too much of this?
Is this a more nuanced topic?

that's kind of the big jenga piece that makes it all fall down. that and eating a whole big pile of belief of subjugation that defies our evolution. we evolved to value ourselves and our family and even under this sort of authoritarianism it's been proven those links will be pervasive
this collectivist belief system always includes a religious-like faith in being able to program people to unwind our evolutionary programming. it's a big reason why they have the fact that evolutionary psychology has become a real science (in fact, their first argument is pure NPC garbage calling is a fake science, to devalue it from the get go).

This might mean a parent votes for policies that would lead to the best possible outcome for as many kids as possible, but might be less advantageous for their own child.
Lol. Does she not realize that voting for democrats is the exact opposite of what she's saying right here?

here is the nuance (and it's unspoken)
collectivists like these are saying certain minority (since Asians are not minorities in this discussion) parents are terrible but lack the balls to say so, so they flip it into a privilege of white/affluent parents. this way they can criticize white/affluent parents for making more optimal decisions and flip it into a societal unfairness, without having to discuss the suboptimal decisions of the non white/affluent population.
you want to hear the real nuance? she is criticizing white/affluent parents for not helping out bad, black and brown parents. it's a racist arse argument that she's spun into the opposite, alleged, kind of racism.

I'm sure it is racist to pay for your kids to go to college and not all kids.
Yup. According to this warped bimbette, personal responsibility is the new Jim Crow. Somehow, I'm keeping the black man down because I take care of MY kid. Hell, I may as well wear a pointy hat and white robe and scream "White Power" since I saved money for MY kid's college.
Seriously, what the hell does she think is going to happen when 3 out of every 4 black kids are born to a single mother, and a large percentage of those single mothers are under 20 years old?
There is opportunity galore in this great country, but the race hustlers don't want the people they claim to care about so much to see that.

Thanks. This is just the type of content I was looking for early on a Sunday morning.

that's not a submoptimal decision on their part
that's just an example of nuclear family privilege, which should be dealt with

My favorite thing is to ask people "OK, can you tell me specifically what you want me to do?" when talking about this. The answer is always some ambiguous non answer mostly have to do with "recognition of your privilege"

and you know what that means, right?

It means assuming a submissive role to those progressives dean more worthy simply based on the color of their skin.

I so sick of all this ‘racism’ bullshite

yeah
"acknowledging privilege" is a rhetorical tool used to remove your agency and role in the discussion
aka, it's purely a silencing tool of submission

I assume it means they just want to attempt to shame people into control and/or they want to make themselves seem like intellectuals by perpetuating and validating their fake social science.
