Weber kettle does everything well under $200. If you go with pellets don’t let them get wet or you could frick it up

Pit Boss has done a fine job for me over the past two years. The price point is about 40% less than Traeger.

All of them can grill. I grilled hamburgers on my Green Mountain grill last night and they were great. Some manufacturers have added mechanisms that allow you to easily expose the meat to the open flame of the grill, which provides for high heat searing/grill marks. Some people prefer to transfer their meat to another gas or charcoal grill for the searing function. I personally think that's too much trouble and instead would just start the meat on my charcoal grill for meats that are typically "grilled".
I would recommend thinking of pellet smokers less as smokers and more as outdoor ovens with easy temperature control that will impart a bit of smoke flavor on your low and slow cooks. Smoking is not their strong suit. Ease of use is their strong suit. And all of them can cook burgers just fine.

Not a pellet smoker but I have the primo XL and love it. Can smoke all day slow and low or get super hot. I preferred the primo XL as I find it easier to cook indirect. I put the fire on one side and leave that side open and put the grill and heat deflector on the other side. This gives me ease of access for adding smoke, etc. just seemed cumbersome with the egg to basically remove your meat and dismantle the grill and deflector every time you needed to access your coals. The XL also gives you a TON of real estate for cooking multiple items on the whole grill and racks. I don’t think you can go wrong with any decent Kamado but I freaking love the primo.

What’s your budget? I had an Akorn that I absolutely loved then upgraded to a Kamado Joe. If you’re grilling at high temps the pellet will leave you disappointed I’m afraid.
