No... LSU has 2 higher rated receivers already committed with Smith (mississippi) and Earle (Texas) and have offers to the top 3 in Lousiana Brian Thomas Jr (Walker), Chris Hilton (Zachary), Destyn Pazon (Edna Karr)

Those ratings are crap. You cant tell me you would take a 5-11 guy over a 6-4 one, with highlight reel jumping ability.

On another note will wade is on him.

Yeah...I would, especially if he’s a better player (regardless of height)

How many safeties are 6’2” but aren’t better than the honey badger?!?

Should I proceed...?

What makes those guys better. You are assuming they are better than the guy who led the whole state in touchdowns last year. Come on man

Staff seems to think the 5’11” guy is better. They’ve earned the right to be trusted in their player evaluations

Why is it so shocking that Coleman might not be in this class?

Currently LSU has commitments from 2 WRs ranked higher than him and is high on 2 more higher than those 2. Add in another 5-6 WRs above him in the rankings and it doesn't far fetched that he doesn't get a seat.

Not that rankings are the be all end all, but he's currently the 47th WR in the country, 4th in LA.

Seems like a good kid though. And he certainly is a great player. Maybe even better at BBall.

But just because he's from LA and is a 4-star doesn't mean we take him above some others.

I’m quite sure your analysis of the players based off height is way more accurate than Coach O and the staff who recruited top 5 recruiting classes the last 2 years. Thanks for your input Joe Brady.

Do you think you know more than our coaches? C'mon dude. If height was the end all be all then our best WRs last year wouldn't be 6'1 and below.

Terrace Marshall is 6'4 and was our worst starting WR last year (obviously a great player still).

Wrong. My analysis is based on the fact that I've seen him play multiple times in both sports. As far as I know coach O has never been to a game

And oh by the way. Lsu is recruiting him. So that is statement is wrong in every way

Umm I think the staff deserves the benefit of the doubt when evaluating players to take and offer in this class. Clearly they have other wrs on the board higher.

I’m sure they know more than you do...

I didn’t say they weren’t recruiting him. They constantly recruit players with non committable offers at the moment. I’m also not saying he’s not a good wide receiver or that he won’t end up in this class, I’m just saying at the moment they’re grading other receivers higher than him.

Also for the record I’m pretty sure they can assess him on tape better than you can in person fwiw.

Also you have to remember that recruiting is a 2 way street. He hasnt showed much interest in lsu either.
He wants to play basketball also, so maybe lsu football coachs dont want that.

Do i want him in purple and gold? Sure.
I'm a lifelong fan, and the kid is from my hometown. But its not rose colored glasses. Hes a freak athlete.

Rumor is he wants clemson anyway. Waiting for that offer to play both. The wildcard is kentucky. They are recruiting him hard for football, but not as much for basketball, as kentucky gets the cream of the crop. We shall see.

Couple of things:

You've seen him play. Have you seen all the other WRs LSU is looking at?

You've now tossed in that it's a two-way street, that he's not that interested in LSU, seems to want Clemson. If so, why should LSU step up the effort on him?

And you say Kentucky gets the cream of the crop in basketball. Well, LSU does in football. Nothing against the kid, but if LSU can get better players, they should.

Travis etienne. Dont give a guy in your backyard the cold shoulder for some guy out of state who will probably leave you at the alter anyway.

Etienne? Really??? That's your comparison?

LSU went for 5* Akers. Didn't get him out of Miss. He went to FSU instead. Turns out, LSU got this 3* guy from LA named CEH. Seems to have worked out.

And at this point, LSU is more likely to add two in-state WRs (Thomas and Hilton) than other out-of-staters. Could D Smith decommit? Maybe. Never know. But if he or Earle do, there's another 10 WRs LSU could get, including Coleman.

Kid played Class A ball. He's a really good player but not better than 4th best WR in the state this year. Langlois kid from Pointe Coupee blanketed him when they played and he's not close to an SEC caliber DB. Some people can't take their feelings out of recruiting when it comes to home town athletes.
