About to open some more things up.
Updates:
Safer at Home order expires May 11.
More outdoor spaces are opening. Up to 20. Kids can get out and swing a bat or kick a ball with their teams.
Restaurants can open - masks for servers, 50% capacity.
Salons and barbers remain closed. But MS will have its own stimulus for salons and barbers.
Now he's bitching about the legislature wanting to spend CARES act money.

Even Mississippi is making LA look stupid.

Posted on 5/4/20 at 2:39 pm to anc

Is there a conspiracy against these businesses or something?

Louisiana is stupid because it is full of stupid voters. I bet some of those voters are wishing they hadn't fallen for a certain candidates lying campaign ads and had voted for the real conservative and leader in the race. How nice would it be to have someone that was an MD actually understands all this coronavirus stuff.

Louisiana voters always confuse me.

No indoor gatherings for more than 10, but that order expires a week from today. I feel that he will let it expire.

So restaurants can open May 11 or immediately?

He should bitch about the Legislative power grab.
Here are some undeniable facts:
- Congress appropriated $1.25B to MS
- the Treasury guidelines require the Chief Executive of the State to administer the fund
- the money has to be spent by 12/31/20
- in the half day legislative session to change MS law to take the money away from the governor, pork BS like race based compensation was proposed by some members of the legislature (that’ll violate the rules and result in a deobligation of funds)
- the legislature doesn’t return for two weeks to even begin the process.
Delbert and Gunn should be ashamed.

Wasn’t Delbert pretty much praised by everyone before his election? What’s going on with him?

He did not say, but a source I trust says that goes into effect Thursday.

the legislature is such a joke. rarely do I want that much funds controlled by one person but if it needs to get out quickly it is how it must be done.

Yep. Including by me. I’m very disappointed in him. I expected as much by Speaker Gunn. He’s a two-faced SOB.

Not only that, but it’s the law.
Posted on 5/4/20 at 3:11 pm to anc
It’s Monday according to desoto county
Posted on 5/4/20 at 3:13 pm to DeltaDoc
You expected our legislature to be competent? The guy from our county is a dyed in the wool liberal that switched to republican because we turned into a one party state where I’m from. He’s not the only one either
