It’s certainly cultural, we’re not like them, and the idea of wearing a mask, or hiding away, it drives me up the wall.

One poster here wrote that if masks were mandatory, he’d just ignore the law.

I get that.

But urban areas are more liberal, and it’s those urban areas that have seen higher death counts.

And I do think that’s part of it. Covid is more of an issue, if you live in NYC, or one of those heavily populated blue states.

Now follow that with the links of the Republican government penalizing people for not following these guidelines. Link the arrest, the detainments, the mobilization of tactical police force, the citations, etc.

Of course not. People of different political persuasions look differently at the same situation ... because they are WIRED differently. They are neither inherently good nor inherently bad. They just have different priorities and different approaches.

You should read "The Righteous Mind: Why Good People Are Divided by Politics and Religion" by Jonathan Haidt.

But you won't.

It is so much easier (and more fun) to attribute "evil" to those who disagree with you.

The Governor of Oregon extended her stay at home order until July 6th. There is no way she can predict what will happen between now and then

The order clearly stated that it could be rescinded if conditions warrant.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

"They are neither inherently good nor inherently bad."

is this your opinion or something you read? just because it's in a book doesn't mean it's true.

good and bad has been around since the beginning of man.

what do you know about "evil"? do you acknowledge that there is evil and there is good?

Roger Corcoran is chief of the Central (La.) Police Department.

He is a Republican and ran as such in the election.

His department arrested Pastor Tony Spell for violating orders by holding church services that violated aspects of the order.

Feel free to read the book and critique the data and analysis. Both look strong to me.

Haidt head-on addresses BOTH sides’ insistence that the OTHER side is “evil.”
