Millennials really start with those born in 1983.

I know several Millennial minded folks and the mentality seems to start with the 1983 crew. Everyone that I have ever known born in ‘81 or ‘82 exhibits more Gen X characteristics

August of 1985 was a stellar time to be born. Good times back then.

But why the odd number? Why not make it 1980? What’s with 1981?

Is someone born in 1980 way different than 1981?

I'm not sure. 1982 actually does make more sense if that's the generation that started turning 18 around 2000.

The generation stuff is mostly just used to make generalizations anyway.

You'll have more in common with people born within 3 or 4 years of you whether you are in the same generation or not.

I favor using Barney Stinson’s “Ewok Line” as the end date for gen x births.

Well someone once said a while back they felt if you were in college when 9/11 happened, you were a millennial.

I guess those born in 80 would have been at least a junior in college (21 yrs old) and a freshman in college that year (2001) would have been born in 83

I was born in 1982. I tell ppl I’m trans-generational—I was born a millennial but I self identify as a GenX. But is that too millennial of me?

Fine but they need to separate us 80s babies from the mid 90s euro trash.
