Everyone thinks they aren't going into poverty because the government will bail them out.

It is as if they have never seen the government work.

It's all political and I think this speaks to the point more that JBE is being driven here by someone that isn't from Louisiana.

It's absolutely political at this point.

There’s a lot more to that clip and it’s great. Either house of the legislature can basically veto the emergency declaration and put a stopgap on new regulations for 60 days. All the reps would need us 53 votes. Could be done as early as this week.

If you listened to the whole clip, they are.

Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about his legislative petition, that, if passed, would overrule the stay-at-home emergency order of Governor John Bel Edwards.

Seabaugh states that, in a recent conference call between a number of Republican legislators and Edwards, the Governor lied about his plans regarding the emergency declaration. "He lied in a Republican delegation meeting. We had - I think - 63 out of 67 Republicans on the phone and he said, 'Businesses are going to start reopening on May 1st....that's a direct quote."

Would be really interesting to see what the course of events would be if they overturn the emergency order. Which sounds very easy to do from his comments.

They finally are.

If JBE had info that supported his decision to extend, he needed to be upfront with the legislature as he had already told that he would open up on May 1.

This smells like the chicken litter that my husband uses in his rice fields.

You really need to reword your title. This is pretty big news. Legislature is going to override JBE's stay at home order.

What’s the theory here?

What’s someone outside of Louisiana have to gain by turning Louisiana into something that it already is, a shithole

Of the 30 or so house reps they’ve canvased so far, only two have said no. They need 53 of the 67. Should be easy.

I'm so pissed right now -- I wanted to punch a hole in my wall yesterday ... and I still do at this point. I warned my husband about my mood before he came home yesterday. Lucky for him I'd calmed down by the time he got home.
