Being outside is the best possible case for you. Its not that hard to stay 6 ft away from others at the beach. I always set up as far away from everyone that I can get. That's a normal.

The virus is not going to live long in that bright sun.

We're trying to protect ourselves from Charleston's great unwashed hordes .... but just from 7am-to-7pm.

I heard Holly Beach looked like the 4th of July from the 90’s last weekend.

Apparently the U.S. Attorney's office in Charleston will let you file a complaint against these towns for closing their roadways to non-residents and only letting in businesses that serve the people that live there. They're also not enforcing the beach closures with island residents.

Not that I'm one to complain, but this kind of seems worthwhile.

No, I just work with real experts in the field. The lock down was a smart thing to do from a public health situation. We know ALOT more today than we did on March 7th when all this started. Given what I have seen in the data and literature, a measured ramp back up to normal is prudent. The key to ramping up is to know how long a duration is one an asymptomatic carrier. I think WHO claiming that those who go through COVID-19 do not have immunity does not hold much water at this point. Yes, there is no scientific evidence that you are immune, but there is no scientific evidence that you are not immune. The way other virus work, normally if your body can handle it, it rarely reemerges. I think that is a safe gamble given history.

Best food on the Island.

You must live in MP. I lived in OV for a number of years. We still vacation on SI annually.

Would seem an easy “disparate impact” discrimination case for some/multiple protected classes. I’d bet the residents there are almost all of the same demographic profile.

We did not know what to expect. Plus Dr. Nancy Rosenstein Messonnier and the CDC braintrust left us to combat the Chinese Bat Virus with fewer functional CV19 tests than Nicaragua had. So you're right, especially given the latter 6 trillion dollar mistake, we had little choice.

Color me thoroughly unimpressed with the Rosenstein clan.

But at this stage, neither problem is any longer at play. We need to move on.

Gottlieb

When DeSantis restricted NY migrants, that pile of garbage matter-of-factly said covid-19 was going to overwhelm Florida, not because of infected NewYorkers seeding the state, but because the governor "is an idiot" who had badly mismanaged the outbreak. I nearly punch the TV.
