It is the same thing that has been happening with so-called progressives for years. They always have to claim the moral high ground, even if it is completely unsupported by science, economics, common sense, or the law, including the Constitution obviously. Oh and actual morals and ethics.
My rules for radicals re this:
1. Find moral high ground.
2. Stake claim, in face of all evidence that it's shaky ground.
3. Signal out your stake for all to see and hear.
4. Shame those upon whom you look down.
5. ??????
6. Profit.

What timeframes are you referencing- the George HW Bush 1 term, the Clinton .com boom years, the George W 9-11 and Great Recession, the Obama recovery and Tea Party revolt, and now the Trump reign. What America is the OP referring to?
