Friend,
It would be significantly cheaper, likely by greater than $10,000 to move the items yourself. You may rent either UHaul, Budget, or Penske.
Penske has the nicest truck fleet and they almost always honor their reservations. It also costs double to triple the other two options.
UHaul is usually about 10% higher than Budget. I find their trucks to be the oldest and sometimes smell bad on the inside. A reservation means nothing to UHaul. If a truck happens to be there and you have a reservation, you get the truck. If not, they look at you and act like you’re unreasonable to expect that a truck comes with a reservation.
Budget usually honors reservations. I find that with online coupon codes they are the cheapest. Almost every time I’ve reserved a small 12 footer, though, they do not have one and “upgrade” me to a 16 or 20 footer even if I do not want a bigger truck.
They are all very easy to operate. My courage in starting TulaneLSU’s Poorboy Tours comes from my many journeys in big rental trucks, helping Mother move art. I hope you have a safe journey. If you need a packing, lifting, and travel companion, perhaps I could join you, assuming you plan a route with no bridges.
Yours,
TulaneLSU

Hey Tulane. How is a gephyrophobite able to live in south LA? It almost seems impossible.

Do you speak like Ignatius J Reilly in your everyday life???
