He does have a point. No straight man watches football for the human interest aspect of it. This is all done for female viewership. Woman live for drama and gossip and feelings. They can’t let men have shite to ourselves these days.

Absolutely false. As a business you want to maximize your profits. You do so by appealing to your core customer base and ensuring their satisfaction with your products/services, not by chasing the approval of every fringe fruit and nut who has no real tangible connection or interest in what you offer beyond their ethical judgement as a self-anointed moral authority.
