Would you rather pick up JT Daniel or have an extra spot for recruiting. I can see positives in both scenarios. Next year we would have a freshman back up QB. Would be nice to have depth. That could cause Brennan to transfer also. Daniels would have a lot of Eligibility left.

Also wouldn’t want to miss out on some kids due to possible filled sports. Example Major Burns. We are also in good spots with some good QBs this recruiting cycle. We could just make it though this season and be in a better spot for next year.

Getting JT Daniels would make a huge impression on the perception of the program.

It’s the QB position and we currently don’t have a proven player or a good backup situation there.

Kid was a promising 5-star with a lot of eligibility left.

Daniels and in 2 years you get that spot once he leaves as opposed to 4. Depth and lighting a fire under Brennan only makes it better.

It worked for Burrow. He probably needed the extra motivation by Brennan.

Daniels actually wasn't that bad before he got hurt so he's already proven. I'd take him before a recruit as you don't know what's behind Brennan yet and you don't even know what Brennan will give you.

JT Daniel's started at USC the year he should have been a Senior in HS.

I will take JT all day long. Proven commodity. Not saying Nussmeier isn't going to be very good in college. But if Orgeron has JT locked up. It's a no brainer. But I think LSU needs another QB. Other than Brennan nobody has played a down in college.

He wasn't terrible but wasn't stellar. Reminds me of Shea Patterson.

I was actually thinking the same thing. There are a lot of similarities

I believe Daniels is way better upside than Patterson.

Patterson doesn’t have anywhere near the arm talent or the football IQ that Daniels has.

We’re pretty quick to discount Patterson’s arm now that we’ve seen him be average at Michigan. He the dude had some skill

JT doesn’t have a monster arm. His release is pretty quick and he can throw us accurately from a lot of different slots and angles. Both players had a lot of upside and promise, Shea just never fulfilled it. Maybe this kid doesn’t either. But I’d like to find out in a purple and gold jersey.

Nuss actually compares well to Shea Patterson.

I haven't seen it at this level. He's nowhere near Burrow level of reading and reacting to defense. He's throwing to his primary 80% of the time.

If Parish doesn’t return I think we’ll take two QB in 21. I say bring him in and one QB in 21. It’s a cliche but steel sharpens steel. If Brennen blows up he can go pro next year, then what you got? Pull him in O!

Shea Patterson

One of the most over rated recruits by this board of all time. He was decent, but the melt here for an under sized QB was unbelievable.

Well of course not he played 1 season in an anemic offense. He would’ve had a big year this past year in a new offense with the new coordinator like Slovis did. And nobody has ever been Burrow at the college level he’s the GOAT and he was a 5th year senior and finally got to play in the offense that fit him. Sometimes all it takes is for preparation and talent to meet opportunity.
