Do the math. It is almost impossible for an American to die of COVID-19.

86 of every 1,000,000 Americans have died. Of those 86 who died while being infected with the virus over 90% were either elderly, obese and or had a serious underlying condition that could be the real causation of death. Many all three.
I suppose it could happen to a golfing, football watching, other wise sane and in decent health 45 year old working guy. But I'd check the wife's whereabouts and if he had an active insurance policy first. But hey, a lady in Alabama was hit in the head by a meteor and died several years ago while watching T.V @ home.

Goddamn some of you need to go outside from time to time.

Are fatal car wrecks "almost impossible"? Because tomorrow 20 times more people will die of covid-19 than will die in car accidents.
You can argue that it's not worth the shutdown, and I would probably agree with you. But all of these simpleton stats don't help.

Not allowed, sort of the point of this thread. Woosh!

Where are you not allowed to go outside?

It has fresh air and sunlight. Highly recommend trying it from time to time.

I realize this, it was an exaggeration of our current situation. Woosh again!

And this further proves my point about some of you needing to go outside from time to time.

You dont believe the numbers the gubment put out daily do you? The rate is higher.

If I were to go down the conspiratorial rabbit hole about the government making up numbers, I would be on the side that the death number is much lower than reported.
I can't play 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon to find anyone that's even caught a mild version of it.

2000 times a day because they are using Common Core math and new science. It looks like they died of the virus. If you are diagnosed with terminal cancer (6 mo or less) and die the virus sped it up but was not the cause of death.

By this logic if I kill someone that has an underlying condition then I didn’t really kill them right?
If someone has the virus and they run into issues because they are elderly, obese, or have some underlying condition then the virus is the cause of them dying.
The seasonal flu numbers are measured the exact same way. A large percent of people die due to their bodies immune response to the flu. Often times ‘this causes organ failure. Should these flu deaths not be counted as a flu death but counted as a suicide?

Might be more possible than we know.
Heard about a guy who jumped off a NYC skyscraper the other day. When he reached the bottom, died of COVID-19...

Okay, now do the same with the flu.

OK....1 + a death = virus death...well shite....1 + a suicide = virus death....well hell.....one more time......1 + a car accident death = virus death.....it's not impossible bc of math

Most of the data I have seen is that 99%+ have at least one pre-existing condition, and that doesn't even seem to include obesity, although things that are likely to be associated with being obese were recorded like diabetes, cardiovascular disease, etc.
We've know since February this basically impacts the people in roughly their last 1% or less.
Imo, they are actually dying of other things, the disease really is only pushing their last toe in the grave (one foot in the grave) more or less. These people are more or less dead, which is why it would have been prudent to protect the elderly sick, instead of focusing on shutting everyone in.
