Senator Burr sold his DC townhouse to a lobbyist for a rich price

From a ProPublica article yesterday....
The relationship dates back to 2001. Doubt they nail him on it, several estimates of the property were taken and vary by over 100 grand. It is odd they had an appraiser give a favorable estimate over a year after the transaction "just for their records" and it was an appraisal amazingly close to the purchase price.
It was sold "off the market", to a lobbyist friend you have known for decades. Burr is either VERY arrogant, are just a stupid shat. There is no one else who could have bought it????
Selling his condo, dumping shares, sounds like the man is cleaning house before he leaves (he says he is not running again in 2022).
I wish they would nail his arse, Warner is an arse but at least he is in your face, Burr is a sneaky turncoat, and the two of them are up to their necks in the cabal mess. Least feinstein was smart enough to jump ship off that intel committee and take her money and her chinese spies with her.

The chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Richard Burr, has come under fire in recent weeks for unloading stock holdings right before the market crashed on fears of coronavirus and for a timely sale of shares in an obscure Dutch fertilizer company.
Now the North Carolina Republican’s 2017 sale of his Washington, D.C., home to a group led by a donor and powerful lobbyist who had business before Burr’s committee is raising additional ethical questions.
Burr sold the small townhouse, in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, for what, by some estimates, was an above market price — $900,000 — to a team led by lobbyist John Green. That is tens of thousands of dollars above some estimates of the property’s value by tax assessors, a real estate website and a local real estate agent. The sale was done off-market, without the home being listed for sale publicly.
Green is a longtime donor to Burr’s political campaigns and has co-hosted at least one fundraiser for him. In 2017, the year of the sale, Green lobbied on behalf of a stream of clients with business before Burr’s committees.

Well, that sucks. I was so looking forward to not voting for him again.

This dude is a total shite bag, but this sounds like they're making something out of nothing by stretching the facts. I'd bet these kinds of deals aren't really uncommon.

Neither... 3rd option:
He doesn't GAF because NO ONE in DC is ever held accountable, goes to jail, etc. when they do things like this.

Wat?
Warner was part of the leaking of the FISA applications, among all kinds of other corrupt shite related to spygate.
That fricker belongs in a dark container somewhere with Mitch Rapp getting medieval on him.
Who really gives a shite about a senator selling a property for "a few thousand" over comps?
Every person in Congress is banking 6-7 figures on the side because of their influence.

I like how they claim it’s way above assessed value.
Market value >>>>>>> Assessed value

This is silly. As crooked as I believe most politicians to be, someone paying ~5% more than a random appraised price for a home is not a place I’d go digging. Especially in a growing housing market.

He needs to be taken off the Intelligence committee, let alone be its chairman.
He lets Warner run it anyway.
He is a political loser - should be a back bencher with no power at all.
Now would be a good time to kick him out of the senate.

Jingles you are missing my point, I KNOW Warner is a key part of the cabal, Burr is as well, but pretends to be a good GOP soldier.

Selling above "appraised" value is not unusual.

Has a $900k "second home" while making $174k/year.

Tens of thousands on 900k house? Don't see the big deal. Maybe his interior has been updated more than others in the area. Maybe there was very little inventory when he sold. Nothingburger

Dude is a slimy piece of shite, there should be a formal public inquiry into his finances.
