Me and the wife brought in $142,000 combined, and paid $17,000 in taxes (I had to pay $942 after filing). We have two kids. That’s almost $18,000. I would hardly call that “nothing”. Then again, maybe you’re a millionaire and $18,000 is a joke to you.

As far as deductions, good luck coming up with more than $24,000 to file non standard deductions.

I'm not either, but I would hardly say that someone who is probably hasn't paid anything in taxes. Just look at some of the people in this thread.

It's $2,400 more than you had before the check, right? I'm getting $3,400. Yeah, it's not like I'm jumping up and down like I won the lottery, but it's still a nice little bonus.

For sure. Many people get high and mighty over their salary (higher taxes). I can see paying $25k as a lot. Hell, it is a lot

He's married with 2 kids. They kind of stick it to you when you are single and make decent money.

I claim married and 3 and have 2 kids. When we have turnarounds at the refinery, I go exempt for a month or so. If I don’t they take everything when you are working 40 hours plus OT a week. I still manage to get back around 3 to 4K federal. How many dependents do you have ?? What do you claim? Not sure why you “ find it funny”...

same here. But all the young people are loving this shite.

This why you have more and more socialist Democrats being elected.

We might as well get used to it folks, it's our future.

You got that right! It's a fricking crime what they take from you when you bust your arse working all those days consecutively.

oh no, the wealth tax is gonna take care of it.

The "real trickle down economics" as AOC says.

Scary shite.

But they won't pay for it. Like everything, the middle class will eat much of it.

Think about it, paying every American 1k per month would cost almost 4 trillion per year. 12k per year is peanuts too but that's almost equal to the current entire federal budget.

Unfortunately true. My liberal son (where did we fail) refuses to just suck it up and pay off his law school loan because he thinks the next democrat president will waive pay off his law school loan for him.
I can’t reason with him.
He pays the minimum- geez

I worked with a young guy that's a hardcore Bernie Bro and he probably makes close to 100k at 27 or so.

He retweets every "health care is a human right" and similar posts on Twitter.

He doesn't work with me anymore and I try not to discuss politics at work anyway but somebody has to tell him

Exactly what I'm saving it for.

This is going to cost tax payers down the road anyway. Just as well keep it to give it right back.
