reinstate the "actively looking for work"

How does that work? Couldn't someone just say "yep, I applied to 5 jobs this week. Haven't heard back."

Part of the weekly filing is that you have to submit places that you applied- company, job title, who you emailed/spoke to, how you applied, phone number, email address, address. And you typically have to do 3 per week.

That's exactly how it worked in Alabama when i was laid off several years ago. You had to apply for benefits every week, and there was a box to check affirming you were actively seeking work. There is no standard to determine what actively seeking works means though.

Under the normal system, when you do your weekly check-in to keep getting benefits, you must provide the names of so-many people you talked to about trying to get a job. So you list names of places you applied to, called, interview, etc.

Now, does LWC audit that and follow-up with those places and ask them of Chuckiee did actually fill out an application? What do you think?
