Only issue I ever saw was right at the start. Entire pasta isle was empty. The random stuff no one ever buys was gone. But that all went back to normal in a week. Even had significant amounts of toilet paper last time I went to the store.

Albertson's has everything except:
Lysol spray
GermX

Buy your hand sanitizer from a local distillery or brewery. Here is a list of local makers all over the country. Distilled Spirits Hand Sanitizer That way you can support a local business and skip the Walmart. I got a gallon of J.T. Melick at Champagne's in Lafayette the other day.

I've seen tp a few times but it's out more often than not the times I've been to the store.
Walgreens had about 20 packs of some cheap store brand single ply yesterday.

so they are closing the plant for 14 days?? Neat
You’re missing the point.
Protein manufacturers, if you will, are now starting face the reality of: do I keep producing at our standard rates vs should we scale back and take more precautions based on COVID-19 quarantine / social distancing norms?
And Sao, is giving a specific example of someone who’s already making this decision.

good time to start supporting local growers

Supply side shortages can be a big problem. Demand side, not so much. These are currently demand side shortages.
When the portions of society start realizing that the 33rd roll of TP is getting in the way, this will subside.

Needed toothpaste, deodorant, parchment paper, enchilada sauce, ice cream, etc... it was a kill two birds shopping experience.

I wonder what the true supply is.
If America’s farmers, producers, etc just stopped - how many days of food would there be left? In days?

Walmart in Slidell has been fully stocked for the last 2 weeks. OP, try a different store.

TP except for the 4pack for $1 that just says "Bathroom Tissue" on it.
Dollar General had tons of this but that’s all they had.
It’ll do in a bind though.

you're missing the point....the plant is closing because they had 240 employees fall sick....not because of your excuses

We would all develop a love of dried beans... Fresh stuff, a couple of weeks. Frozen, month or 2
Just guesses of course.

HEB had a bunch of Mexican TP (no English on the package at all). I bought a small pack to see what it's like to shite "internationally".
But I had to go to Walmart near me and there was a small section in the middle that was empty, but the isle was mostly full and I didn't see people lining up to take it like they had been. Hoping that was a good sign that people have gotten over hoarding.

The grocery stores in Houston are fine for the most part...people are still hoarding paper products and cleaning supplies of course.
I’ve tried to limit the grocery store trips...been doing a lot of produce, meat, pantry staples from local restaurants that use their supply lines to basically pivot and operate as a bodega.
I pay a few bucks more on average I’m sure, but I’m happy to pay a little extra if it means they can support their employees and resume normal operations once this is all over.

So many people on here pick on Walmart people, and they themselves go there all the time without realizing that they, in fact, are a part of the group.
