I am imagine the same is true for all states. Supposedly it’s going to be implemented at the end of the month. But I don’t trust it. This is causing major issues for myself, many of my coworkers, And probably hundreds of thousands of others. I was for stay at home orders and all of this nonsense. But I was also promised to have help. This is a major issue and if we don’t get back to work soon, people are going to be in a lot of trouble.

UE is pretty fubar everywhere
That's what happens when you shut the country down and lean on government systems to sort it out

Georgia added it.
And the Fed cash money starts flowing tomorrow according to DOL site. Retro two weeks. We'll see.
Eta: our nanny (W2 EE) literally got a 400% raise and doesn't have to work.

Yep. Just as President Reagan said, the nine most terrifying words in the English language.....”I’m from the government and I’m here to help”

And mass is a democratic state. This is very unnerving and stressful for myself. and I imagine Hundreds of thousands of others. I can’t survive like this very much longer.

Are you a Bay Stater? Sorry to hear you’re on tough times, baw. I hope we can get out of this in time for you to weather the storm.

I have to do what I can. May have to resort to delivering pizzas. Still won’t cover my bills.

I guess Ma. gets the $600. uc bump too?
Standard unemployment comp in that state is around $700 wk., plus around $50 per so many kids, right?
Some will make it ok during this crises.

That’s a gd shame, friend. We’re leaving too many hard working Americans such as yourself behind with these shutdowns.

I just have to make it to the end of the month. That’s if they actually implement it. But right now I am struggling. Still haven’t gotten my stimulus either.
ETA: lost my job in early March

What a society we live in today! I thought unemployment was supposed to be the last resort. I know people who are so proud that they would work 2-3 of the jobs you described having to resort to rather than collect a dollar of unemployment.

It is a last resort. Do you think there are all that many jobs available right now?

I wonder if the States would try to reclassify self employed as employees. In the past an attempt to do that would trigger an audit. If you have a corporation or an LLC, you would avoid that. I don’t trust the States on this.

Did you put in an app for PPP when it opened up for contractors and self-employed last Friday?

Do you understand what unemployment insurance is?

Is that a loan program?. I am a waiter. I don’t own a business. I’m self-employed as a waiter. Not sure how that applies to me. I was promised as being self-employed to get unemployment. That was the promise.
