It's a shame, but all the more reason for me to buy from small local breweries.

Done as of yesterday or the day before. I heard Inbev would have done a hostile takeover if Busch didn't do it willingly, so he cashed in.

Isn't Miller still a U.S. owned brewer?

Molson Coors has dual headquarters, one in Colorado the other in Canada.

Thought it was a South African company that owned Millers.

It still needs to get through final approval but they have agreed to sell. Funny thing is if you have ever visted Busch Gardens they have signs everywhere about how they are the only american beer company. They were VERY proud of that status.

And they're still running the "Great American Beer" commercials up this way. Meh

So I'm guessing if we're going with at least quasi-mass produced beer, Sam Adams is probably the only one left that's widely avaliable yet still American?

And it is 1000 times better than anything to ever come out of AB, Miller or Coors.

I lament the loss of another American institution/company, but I won't miss the beer.

Sadly I agree.

Speaking of if any of you are up this way you should definitely check out some Bluegrass Brewing Co. brews. Local brewery (I'm not sure how far south they distribute) but has some very solid Ales.

I talked to my bud rep. this week and he said the same thing. It sucks that they tried to keep it here and their hands were tied. Lots of family and tradition in that company.
