The new one.
Trailer looked horrible.
Is it worth the $6 rental?
I haven't wanted to watch it because I've watched enough docs on Midway that I don't want a stupid retelling.
But I'll rent it if it's a 6/10.

Dude it’s bad. I would not rent for $6 when it’s at Redbox for $1.50

Go ahead and rent it. Not great, but certainly watchable. 6-7/10 seems appropriate. I found it to be better than Dunkirk or Pearl Harbor, for example.
The southern/southwestern accents from a couple of the main characters is a little overdone, and the dialogue has its cheesy moments but otherwise it was an enjoyable watch. The visual effects are good.
It covers a longer period of time than the original Midway with Heston and Fonda, as it touches on the PH attacks and the early months of 1942. That said, it didnt come off as a history lesson, so I think you will enjoy it.
Woody does a good job as Adm. Nimitz, even though I have Henry Fonda as Nimitz burned into my mind from seeing the 1970's version a thousand times as a child.

I thought it was a decent movie. I'd rate it a 6/10.

Isn't a moderate case of "the Rona" better than that POS, though?
(What? Too soon?)

Wait until it comes out on VHS.

Pretty bad. I rented it one night, and then the next night I rented the 1976 version. I found the older one much more entertaining.

Alright.
Thanks for the responses.
Doesn't sound like the bother.
Even in these bored times.

I enjoyed it.
It isn't historically accurate.
But it was meant to be a blockbuster explosions film with Midway as the setting.
