He claims it's to build hospital capacity and prevent overcrowding.

Washington has already "flattened the curve".

This is the problem with the current state we're in as a country. There's no clear threshold for when things will reopen, and some of the governors are making really concerning statements about preventing every single death or "eradicating" the virus. Those things aren't possible unless we're shutdown for the next year.
