You guys better get those people in office to start to see the light of day, we're not talking Depression... we are talking system reset. And all for nothing.

In an interview with Bloomberg, the president of the St. Louis Fed, predicted that U.S. unemployment rate may hit 30% in the second quarter because of shutdowns to combat the coronavirus, coupled with an unprecedented 50% drop in US GDP. That would be an outcome worse not only than every prior war the US has (officially) waged, but more than twice as dire as the worst days of the Great Depression.

What an irresponsible comment.

The market was too expensive. People are crashing the system so they can buy cheap. and profit even more.

Women didn’t generally work during the depression, how was that factored into unemployment rates?

You are about to have USSA, meaning the government will have to buy corporate bonds, stocks, worthless paper, etc. The system will not run with these types of numbers i.e. derivatives will blow up. Mega-bankruptcies, defaults, and derivative melt downs.
They always call for capitalism on the way up, but never on the way down... complete control by the federal government and federal reserve.

What we are about to witness is Destruction not Depression - someone better wake those people up at the capital domes.
I'm expecting limit down by the open and yet another federal reserve silly plan.
quote:
So far in this 'everything bubble'-burst crisis, the Fed has:
- Cut interest rates from 1.25% to 0.15%. - Launched over $700 billion in Quarantitative Easing (QE).
- Launched a $1.5 trillion repo program.
- Launched another $1 trillion repo program.... daily!
- Announced it will begin buying commercial paper (short-term corporate debt).
- Allowed primary dealers to start parking assets, including stocks, as collateral in exchange for short-term credit.
- Announced it will begin buying muni debt. Opened unlimited dollar-swap-lines to the world.
And the result of all this record amount of liquidity provision - almost $30 trillion of global wealth destruction (bonds and stocks)...

That should take care of any rally on Wall Street and lead to more panic. That’s higher than unemployment during the Depression.

It’s gonna destroy more nations than just the US.

Exactly. This is a global economic reset.

Seriously, what the frick is the purpose of making such a comment. All it could possibly do is cause further panic is the markets. These frickers just want to feel so damn important.

Well, I think the time to say everything is just rosy is way over. You can't shutdown what 30-40-50% of the economy and think nobody is going to notice.... this starts a daisy chain of further numbers, we're at the very beginning.
Imagine in another week.
These people are making some serious decisions with the human race at this point.

So, explain to me how this comment does anything positive.

We’re being hoo dooed right before our very eyes. No amount of quarantining is worth destroying ourselves. Quarantine the elderly and sick and everybody else get the frick back to work.

I'll send a warning to the FED. Their days are done. By the time this is all over the Federal Reserve will be no more.
Mark it down.
Mark it down.
