they need a floor more than a ceiling. if you are on unemployment or SS then you shouldn't be getting a check.

Why is that? Anyone who is on unemployment, Social Security or disability buys good and services. This stimulus package is more about propping up the economy then individual Americans paying their bills. The best way to do that is to give everyone money to spend. Additionally, why should someone who has worked for years and paid taxes but has reached retirement, lost a job or been injured be penalized? We are all in this together.

what a terrible take. People on unemployment and SS pay into this government and they buy goods and services.

Beyond that, it's the just and Christian thing to do.

You think people who just got $3,000-10,000 in EITC money for having kids on welfare should get checks and not the elderly on social security who can’t work and have medicine, insurance, and bills to pay?
