I always enjoyed Jules Verne.
You can find them online for free, which is nice.

I’m halfway through All Quiet on the Western Front now. Really intense; really good.

Book Thief by Zusak is awesome. I'm not sure it's 100% classic but it worth reading. It wasn't my own decision to read it but anyway I'm glad I was asked to write an essay by this book. That's how I started reading it. After all I've got some writing help here and I got a lot of pleasure during reading process.
Interesting, because it's the only book that I almost did not finish. It was horribly depressing to me. I read a lot of WWII fiction, but I was just miserable for me. I've talked to people who think like each of us. Evidently, you either love it or you hate it!
