Because they play in a weaker conference, therefore they don't get prepared though the season????

probobly because the mascot is a nut.

some form of predatary animal as a mascot and they would have won back to back national championships.

a shame really.

SFP - I find it interesting that you post a question like "Why can UTenn schedule home/homes with good Pac10 schools" and then trash this guy's equally inane question.

Seems like unless you ask the question, it's not worthy of a legitmate response from the all-knowing SFP. Are you really that sanctimonious?

Those are lousy and flammatory reasons.

You know, to continue to berate Ohio State only diminishes LSU's BCS Championship performance.

I tend to agree with those who state that the Big Ten is over-rated. Perhaps Ohio State should not have been selected to play in that game, but I can't see any reason why the selection process would have come up with any better match-up for the BCS Championship.

This year, I do not believe that a one loss Ohio State team will get the chance to play in that game.

Ohio State has good coaches, excellent atheletes, and I don't think that they underestimated LSU. After all, the Tigers were a 7 point favorite. What hurt OSU was the lack of good competition to prepare them for that war!

Geaux Tigers!!

I don't really count anything pre 2001 when I consider OSU's history of playing SEC teams. I think the last 2 years, OSU has gone up against some pretty good teams in the championship game. An injury, stupid penalties, and being lazy for 2 months got us totally destroyed in 2006. If you had asked probably anyone on this board if UF was 4 TD's better than OSU even they would have laughed in your face.

In 2007, OSU fans were content to go to the Rose Bowl in mid-November. There are dozens of pictures of Beanie and JL holding roses in their mouth because they felt that's where they were going. Numerous teams lost ahead of them, and they were the only conference champ with 1 loss; hello Championship Game.

We played a better team in 2007, and we played them in their home state. They beat us, but what the score doesn't say is that OSU outgained LSU. We played a lot harder this year, and if the UF loss had never happened, people would not be saying that LSU destroyed OSU.

If OSU played Alabama last year in the regular season at a neutral site, OSU wins by 2 td's.

to try and give a serious answer, I really do think it was the lack of opponents to prepare tOSU for battles against strong sec teams. all season LSU had to come from behind and fight all game long (UF had similar struggles 2 years ago). When we were down by 10 early all the tOSU fans were going nuts. All i said was "10 points ain't winning this". As soon as LSU went up, I thought allot of the fight left tOSU. We knew we could come back on anyone (forged in the AU/UF games), tOSU lacked that confidence and panicked 2 years in a row. All those personal fouls in the second half is pure panic.

First of all, I don't see how you can take much pride in "outgaining LSU". With all the penalties and turnovers, and getting totally chewed-up with 31 unanswered, the poor Bucks were forced to run a high risk/reward offense. It got you some yards, and it also cost you more turnovers. Your last TD drive was aginst a soft defense that played many reserves.

Whether UF blasted you the previous year or not, the Bucks were clearly and completely dominated by the Tigers. You should feel lucky that you came within 14 points, and I am sure that you felt lucky that you did after it was 38-17!

As far as beating Alabama on a neutral field, you should brag that you could have beat them by more than two TDs. OSU was that much better easily. LSU played them while terribly depleted with injuries and at Bama. A healthy Tiger team would have blasted them a lot worse than we blasted you!

So......what's your point?

shite happens in college football and everywhere. It happened twice for tOSU!
Florida game...it hit them before they knew what hit them.
LSU game...they were too cautious this time and LSU was simply better that day. I was nervous when they quickly went 10-0. Many teams would have folded at that point. But, we are LSU right?

They are a very good team with good athletes and coaches and capable of hanging with ANY team and I pick them to beat SC this upcoming season.

I would hate to be that SEC team that OSU finally beats in a bowl game. Can you imagine the crap that team would take from the Big 10 and SEC homers?

One might argue that Les Miles was the number one problem for Ohio State.

They can beat an SEC team. LSU doesn't have a winning record against them.

Yes, they only haven't faired well against the SEC in bowl games. But Ohio State has beaten SEC teams in the regular season. Moreover, its not like all Ohio State losses against the SEC in bowls have been blowouts.

I don't know why they haven't faired better in bowls. Michigan seems to beat the SEC every other year in a bowl game, while Ohio State is consistenly beating Michigan.
