FWIW, as severity in the <70y/o group appears less than standard flu, often much less, herd immunity through lower risk exposure is not a whacky thesis.

So, in your world view, isolation and inactivity for seniors saves lives?
By all accounts the 27 people who died in that Washington nursing home were isolated and inactive.

Take note. This is government's approach to all problems

Never visited a nursing home, have you.
Look, quarantines are an effective and ancient practice of humanity...predating the Constitution by thousands of years. They are even mentioned in Leviticus as part of the Mosaic Law: ""If the shiny spot on the skin is white but does not appear to be more than skin deep and the hair in it has not turned white, the priest is to isolate the affected person for seven days. On the seventh day the priest is to examine him, and if he sees that the sore is unchanged and has not spread in the skin, he is to isolate him for another seven days."
There are certain human behaviors that are part of natural law (don't spread disease, don't eat other humans, don't treat the poop chute as a sex object) that the overwhelming majority of humanity has adhered to regardless of time or place, and for good reason.
Deal with it.

i'm really, REALLY curious how this works out for them
just on pure logistics, it makes sense to remove 15% of the population instead of 100% of the population
