Anyone who thinks they are truly a "public servant."
Everyone is there for the paycheck. There are no higher callings in that regard.

I'm not a nurse apologist and have no connection to any nurses. I just think criticism should be fair, as should praise.

That's not profession. That's volunteer. Now that's a higher calling.

This is some ill-informed BS. My wife is an RN. They take an oath for their profession. It's more than a job to them. If my wife walks off from a shift, she is susceptible to criminal charges.
While you sit at home and cry about toilet paper.

First responders. They literally hijacked the 911 legacy.

Every RN I’ve met/known eventually burned out on being a nurse and went back to school for something more advanced- including my wife. I’m not saying that happens all the time, but from what I understand, being a nurse and cleaning up peoples butts suck. And the pay is garbage.

More than a few are working under a employment contract, either because of incentive bonus they received for taking the job, or they are actual contract nurses which. are very common.

No. Hell no.
Altruism is a fantasy. Behind every "altruistic" movement is a selfish motive, and there's nothing wrong with that.

I agree with you for the most part regarding altruism though.

I worry more about the RTs that have to go in, do breathing treatments, and the woodworks.

There probably are a few folks who get a rush by helping others, but they wouldn't be there if the benefit weren't greater for themselves.
Behaviorism is fascinating.

Yeah cause the argument I’m making is to eliminate nursing

True. Thought we were strictly discussing monetary benefit. There is ultimately a benefit to both parties or these services/transactions wouldn't exist.

I may have taken the idea of profession too literal earlier.
