Then, he should go back for the test.

I received confirmation today that someone I was close too tested positive and was told by my Doctor to head to the Oschner testing facility again ASAP. I make it over to the Urgent Care facility thirty mins later and go through the check in process once again only to be told after checking in that they only have a few tests left at Oschner and those tests are being reserved for elderly people who are in compromised health situation.

Doctors tell me I have all the symptoms of having contracted the coronavirus (now five of my clients are experiencing the same symptoms as well) and that all they can do is tell me to self quarantine for 14 days because Oschner will not test anyone else. the Doctors were a little aggravated with the lack of supplies and tests and said at this point they believed the virus is so widespread that many people have it and just don't know. BCBS approved for me to take the test this time so they weren't a problem this time the problem with with Oschner.

On the flip side one of my clients who I was with lives in Texas. The difference between Louisiana and Texas is night and day with respect to testing people for the coronavirus. He filled a form online and was told to proceed to the nearest testing center to get tested immediately. Within the last hour he was tested and the results were sent out and will be returned within 48 hrs.

The screwed up system here in Louisiana is so lousy that we are going to have thousands of people spreading this stuff around because Oschner is wasting time only testing the elderly and not testing people who are more apt to carrying the damn virus so we are going to have massive outbreaks in Louisiana due to the incompetence of the state and Oschner. If Texas can get this process in place this quick then what in the hell is wrong with Louisiana?

Very frustrated but now on an official 14 day self-quarantine.

This is just unacceptable. I don’t understand why so many remain in a state that systemically fails to provide basic services to taxpayers. I honestly didn’t know how bad LA government was until I left.

I contracted the virus from a bartender out of state who served us drinks so I would suggest not going to any restaurants or bars for the next month. The Doctors said that most people think they have a minor cold but are really carrying the virus so this is much more prevalent than what is being portrayed. I'm staying inside and in isolation.

If you’re sick stay the hell home and self quarantine. Why do you need a test to confirm that? CDC has said this countless times.

If any of us had the answer to this question, we'd be filthy rich. Also, we'd probably have to be corrupt as frick so we wouldn't commit suicide with two behind the ear.

Do not answer that question. It will help nothing.

I was told by the Doctors that as of right now in Louisiana that Oschner is the only facility currently giving the tests but that as the week started next week that others would be getting the tests in Louisiana.

Marginally better so I would give it a 4-5 out of 10 right now. Chest is still very tight, shortness of breath, and extreme exhaustion is not as bad as it was.

It’s not Ochsner. It’s the state.

There are limited tests available and the state has strict standards on who can get tests.

There also at least four confirmed cases in EBR that the EBR office of Health is not reporting because the CDC hasn’t confirmed them (which is the opposite of what every place on Earth is doing by declaring the “presumptive” positive.)

Feel fine other than head pressure, tiredness, and chest pressure. I'm in really good health in late 40s.

The Doctors at Oschner were definitely blaming Oschner for this not the state.

Would you say this feels worse than the common flu?

Different than the common flu. When it first hits you though it feels like you are coming down with the Flu or a bad common cold due to the extreme exhaustion that just hits you. I could sleep 20 hrs a day for 4 days. The chest pressure and shortness of breath are also different. Unlike the flu or a common cold though my head is surprisingly clear and focused not drowsy or confused.

I friend of mine at the airport who works for a major airline just told me the airlines will soon institute temperature screenings for all passengers who going to fly out. If you test positive for a high temp you will be quarantined in the state that you were tested in. This will create some pissed off people.
