Las Vegas is definitely worried behind closed doors how this will affect the casino industry.
How long before the first casino in Louisiana/Mississippi closes down due to this hysteria or is forced to close down by gov officials? Just think about all of the old people that frequent lauberge. Strange times.

I believe they would have to be forced to close. No way they close on their own. They ONLY care about making money. If you have a gambling problem, you will still be there. Less tables open and less services maybe.

We've already canceled our monthly two day trip to WinStar in Oklahoma.

Coronavirus isn't the worst thing you can catch at a casino.

I'm headed to Vegas the 31st. I'm not cancelling unless the casinos close.

Naww - degenerate gamblers are like dope fiends. They'll do almost anything to get their fix.

Casinos might be the worst breeding ground there is with everyone touching the chips, cards, and slot buttons.

Going at the end of next month.
Unless tens of thousands in Las Vegas have it by then I will continue with the trip with minimal concerns.
Biggest worry is the airport in ATL and the ensuing flight.
Well, that and if/when to hold on 16. ;)

i have busted arse the past month to clear up my work schedule to start playing poker again and i won't lie i'm worried about going to a casino. like i posted in my "will the WSOP be cancelled?" thread a week or so ago, poker is a potential haven for spreading a virus

Casinos have much more to worry about, like the fact that a large portion of COVID deaths is attributed to smokers.

Smokers
Elderly
Drinkers
And then there’s all of the touching of machines and cross contamination. Not to mention the poker chips being handled by thousands of different people in one day.
Casinos are a breeding ground for viruses and I’m surprised they haven’t been forced to shut down yet.

Can you believe Doug Polk got 20 to 1 on a cancelled wsop?
Posted on 3/12/20 at 10:39 am to PeteRose
i thought he just offered. did somebody actually take that bet?
Posted on 3/12/20 at 10:41 am to monsterballads
The casinos have some serious power and unless somebody can legit make them shut down, they aren’t closing their doors

It should, the corona is all over the baccarat tables, and being spread thru out.
A local-ish casino in Illinois is going to be open for NCAA tourney betting. Still working on it to be ready, OOOOps.

Dan Smith...I guess he’s used to running good so he can afford to put out a bad line.

I think originally it was just an opinion from Polk. But poker players with their huge egos had to say something to sound reassuring and that’s where Dan Smith came in.
