Precautionary or suspected case? The nursing home where I work has implemented "restrictions" which are nothing more than filling out a form every time you walk in to visit or work. That's it.

eta: Just was informed that lots of changes have been made -- strict visiting hours was one but wasn't told of the others. Won't be going until Monday, my normal day. IF they let me in.

if by "real" you mean dozens of elderly people already in bad health will die then yes it's about to get real

Most nursing homes have been closed to visitors for some time now

Not sure about that but I do know they aren't letting people in or out.

That’s not true, at least not in South Louisiana. Most I’ve seen is shortened hours for visits

True, but we shouldn't let that fact stop the alarmist.

Thousands of nursing homes and assisted-living centers across the United States are becoming islands of isolation as health care administrators take unprecedented steps to lock them down, hoping to protect some of the nation’s most vulnerable residents from the threat posed by the coronavirus.

On Tuesday, industry leaders recommended curtailing all but essential visits at homes across the country, calling the challenge posed by the novel coronavirus “one of the most significant, if not the most significant” issues the industry has ever faced.

The one my Pops is at cleaned the rails in the halls last week, first time we have ever seen it done
I’ve been cleaning his room myself, wiping down door knobs & light switches with Clorox wipes

My Pops isn’t in bad health, he’s just 93 & can’t get around all that great
There are plenty of people in nursing homes for rehab from falls & strokes as well

My Grandmaws place has restrictions in place now. Visiting hours are only from 8-5, you have to enter through main entrance and get triaged by a nurse before entering.
