I think the last two games make it pretty clear they care about this game more than they do playing other teams.

Because they beat us? If that were the case, AD plays tonight.

They've beat a lot of teams.

Lakers lost to the Grizz on purpose. Just thought you should know that.

They have LeBron and usually AD. One of the two best men to ever touch a basketball and another 1st teamer. They have a decent supporting cast with Kuzma and KCP. 2 vet rim protectors that need to contribute zero on offense.

We have two 22 year olds and a 19 year old rookie in our top 4 players.

Maybe pay attention.

It is extremely clear the different level of effort Lebron in particular has put in.

And the Lakers are actually statistically better without AD this year.

Huh? I'm not debating that.

But as you are seeing in this thread, there are people out here saying that LA lost to Memphis on purpose yesterday just to make sure they don't matchup with us in the playoffs.

1) The Lakers couldn't care less about who their 1st round opponent is.

2) If they did, the Lakers matchup better against us than they do the Grizzlies just because we have literally nobody with the size to matchup with Lebron 1-on-1 defensively. Memphis does and we saw that last night.

That has nothing to do with effort.

We have no one that can guard Lebron to at least slow him down every now and then. The Grizzlies have wings that can matchup with him size wise.

Just for the record, I do not believe they are “scared” and never said so.

I believe they want to beat us more than most teams and the level of play goes up accordingly. I don’t think it has anything to do with not wanting to play us in the first round.

I think Lebron is butthurt about Griffin’s comments this offseason.

The only team Lakers fans are slightly concerned about is Portland because Dame can go off

Nobody respects Memphis.

And I emphasize fans because the actual Lakers don’t give a shite who they play in the first round

Alvin should have benched Ingram in the late 4th quarter. Ingram shot 5-23, but that wasn’t even the worst part. He refused to pass to Zion in the stretch late in the game

It’s very clear LeBron is playing playoff level when he goes against us. Your blind if you can’t see that. Not sure if it’s to prove a point to AD or to the young guns that he alienated last year when he wanted them traded. But the Lebron we are seeing now will be the same in the 1st round if we end up playing them.

This is the point i disagree with. I had a take that it’s plausible the lakers would care less about the grizzlies game (leading to a loss) than the pels game, which ultimately leads to them having a higher chance of playing a less physical team in the playoffs

In no way, shape, or form did anyone with a working brain say the Lakers were “scared” of us. However, if you watched the Grizz-Lakers game (seems like you didnt) you would understand that for whatever reason, maybe animosity towards pels bc of AD trade, past players playing, Zion vs Lebron narrative, the Lakers just play harder and exert more effort towards the pelicans

Maybe they did it with playoff seeding in mind, maybe they didnt. Any first round matchup of Blazers, Pels, Spurs, Grizz would likely be a sweep, but the Pels would put up the most physically taxing sweep imo considering their pace and the fact that Zion would be battling with an injury prone big all series. That’s all my take is and was

Ok, I will play your game so maybe it will pacify you.

Lakers would prefer play Memphis at 8 than Pels. They dont fear losing a series to us but the games would be tougher and more pressure for Lakers. Two reasons for that. First, the off season trade obviously puts more pressure on AD and LBJ. Even 1 loss to the Pels with LBJs rejected misfits would embarrass them. Also, Morant kisses the ring. LBJ wouldnt mind gushing over Ja if they squeaked out a win. Ja isnt compared to LBJ and isnt a threat. Zion is compared to LBJ and he also hasnt come to worship at his alter. That offends LBJ. One win in playoffs...heck, even just a good series for Zion even in a sweep, and the media will spend a certain percentage of their time praising Zion and talking about our bright future.

Lake show wants none of that. Facts Broski
