Rational Thoughts about Basketball

- the only surprising/bad loss was Vandy. Went in there overconfident at 8-0. It happens. Losing by 3 to UK or tough SEC road games is not unexpected with this roster.
- a 2-1 finish (with two winnable home games) puts us at 12-6 and a double bye. Everybody would take that deal at the beginning of the season.
-Yes, the D is HORRIBLE. We have one playable big who is a freshman and is lost on D. He isn't a rim protector. Wade had a solution to that problem until Alleva torpedoed last year's class. He's playing the cards he has. We lost Waters, Reid, and KBW in the rotation. We replaced them with Watford and Manning (who has been hurt). What do you expect?
Bottom line: we're about to make back to back tourney appearances and have a Top 10 class coming in. I know some of you just live to bitch, but I hope others can see all the good that's going on right now and support the program.

Appears to be a disconnect between the gameplan and the players.

Who was the solution?

That and the players just don't communicate that well or at all on defense.
There is so many possessions where Marlon and Emmitt (two guys who I think actually can play D) are just staring at the rest like wtf are y'all doing.

Dante right? Thought it was widely assumed that he and Quinones would round out the class before Alleva's bullshite

I hope we do go 2-1. But I am concerned.
The trend has not been our friend.

Two winnable home games... we had a brutal stretch schedule wise from Auburn until last night. Obviously we blew games we maybe should have won, but we're pretty close to where I expected honestly

not a fan of Alleva but it is time that reality sets in...
WADE was listened to on the tape, Alleva did not tape him.
WADE initiated the problem REGARDLESS of whether we agree with Alleva's actions or not.

There were two in play, Khadim Sy and N'Faly Dante.
Sy has played good at OM in the second part of conference play. Dante has been up and down at Oregon. He's eligibility and injury issues.
Either would have been a nice lift for this team.

The fact that we’re about to make back to back tournament appearances should excite and unite the fanbase for basketball. It’s unreal that people are seriously bitching about Will Wade and the state of this program

You heard the tapes?
How about the ones ESPN reported that Sean Miller was on? Oh right that one didn't exist, so why are we believing the click bait hacks at Yahoo again?

every member should be forced to have a read receipt before they can post again.
even then, most cant comprehend what you wrote. I thought it summarized the facts nicely

Forgot about Sy... man that'd have been a nice piece for this team. I hope they get Shareef a waiver for next year, think he'll be an important addition

I am not saying Wade doesn't deserve blame. He does. I'm just saying that we probably end up with 2 bigs coming to LSU if not for the suspension and the fall out. That's at least my understanding from what I've read on here, I'm not a recruiting guru.
Bill Self had his hand in the cookie jar as well and his administration didn't give him the kick in the nuts that Wade got. Alleva could have handled the situation better, regardless of what Wade did.

Quit being rational and making sense. Rantards won't compute this

Good analysis. Watford is not really a big.
We could have more cutting and movement on offense. We don’t move much off the ball.. in a way that gets people open for a shot

Everyone wants to give Willy a pass, but he is the one whose voice was heard on tape "with a clear intent to cheat". He is the one who created the incident and brought about the repercussions. Alleva should have fired his arse at the time. It's not too late for Woodward to bring in a new coach and return some integrity to the program.

I am very concerned about this team. Most expect them to beat A&M and Georgia, but this team appears very tired. I'm not sure they can just flip a switch and bring it against A&M Saturday. Skyler's play was really disturbing last night.
Wade saw this coming in Gainesville...hence the tirade about SEC scheduling earlier this week. This team is fading fast, and will be very fortunate to win 2 of the next 3.
