I love the old downtown Covington. I've gone there twice with my wife to stay in a bed and breakfast there. It's nice just to park the car for the weekend and walk all over enjoying restaurants, bars, and do a little shopping, etc.

The value of solid retail/government employees can’t be understated. After going through the required background check and extensive Northshore resident interview process, I was allowed to purchase my house in Mandeville, and could start to change all of my info to the new address.
Best experience at a DMV/OMV ever. The staff behind the counter didn’t even look at me like I was ruining their day just by showing up! And 10 minutes later I had a new drivers license and registration.

Pathetically trying way too hard here.

Ok buddy, WTF are you talking about...
Most if not all the complete southshore, is a shite hole. Restaurants cannot keep a consistent staff and kitchen staff because of DEA bust. So most food taste like shite.
Every gas station has that-You can be robbed at anytime look. The hoodrats patrol the decent neighborhoods to break in cars, houses and rob residents. There are streets near the American Can Factory that have the concrete ground to dust so bad and are in horrible condition & are worse than some streets I have seen in W Africa, Papua New Guinea and Mexico.
The southshore is dirty and consist of tards with purple hair, bad tattoos, rejects and losers that cant afford a car to get to work. But are the best and brightest NOLA has to offer...
We dont have that shite on the Northshore and are proud to leave it when we drive 45 minutes home. The equivalent to leaving an out house to go to the penthouse. I will take it anytime-(living on the Northshore with a smile). And leave the distortion and complicated circle jerk of southshore to super heros like yourself.
Oh dont be hate'n it's not a good look..

They bought the parking lot too? Richard was asking over $1M for the parking lot alone... which is ridiculous considering the renovations needed for the structure itself. Last I heard he was content to just let it sit unused unless someone would pony up the cash... maybe he came down on his ask?

Impressive. The reoccurring groupthink OT post only makes 6 pages.
Mardi Gras must be cutting into the post count.

Dacula's nice, but I wouldn't want to live in a place that so obviously mispronounces its own name.

Uh oh. Multiple locations means it’s a chain and therefore I must hate it.

I've never understood this. On a previous page someone called the Chimes a chain which it isn't. Chilis and Joe's Crab Shack are chains.

One in Covington, one in Mandeville. Owned by sisters. I'm not aware of any others.
