Marlon Taylor’s Rarely Used Superpower

Wondering if others have noticed a few moments when it’s like a light switch comes on and Marlon Taylor instinctively flashes quick and hard to the rim for a dunk. He’s fast but it’s like a superpower that he doesn’t realize he has or is not confident in using.
Or maybe I’m imagining it.

Maybe you’re constipated.

Very limited basketball skills. But yes a world class jumper.

Year over year, his field goal % is down to 33.3% from 46.3% last year yet his 3 pt % is up to 38.1% from 25.4% last year. So, he’s missing shots in the paint and hitting more from from outside the arc.

He needs to work on his ball handling and you will see his drives for successful.

Definitely agree with you there. Watters made magic happen on so many levels.

He only has a straight line drive. He can’t crossover or spin well compared to smart or Mays so he backs out of drives often.

When he commits to drive to the basket he needs to continue full throttle to the basket...he’s waiting to get fouled and most of the time the officials won’t call it... he needs to go to the rim with authority...

If Marlon had any type of offensive game he would probably be the best person on the team.

He seems destined for a nice run as a dunker on one of the Globetrotters teams

He doesn’t have Waters serving him up this year. Have they had any alley oop sets this year ?????

I wonder if he could be a big time sleeper NBA prospect. He won't get drafted but if he get his shot to go consistently to pair with athleticism he'd have a chance. He needs to study some Gerald Green tape.

With his quickness and leaping ability all he needs are better handles to become a dominant player.

The past week is the first time Taylor has looked completely healthy from his surgery. His quick step and explosive jumping ability is back finally. Manning looked good also since coming back from injury.

Just once before he leaves, I want to see him jump over someone and dunk it. He can absolutely do it.

yea but the problem is he has to dribble to get there

If Marlon could figure out the Antonio Blakeney drive to the elbow pull up jumper he could be averaging double digits. Use that spring, his 3 ball is much much improved to last year though, sucks we didn't get a full season of healthy Marlon

Seems like he could compensate for that with his quickness.
