Carl Weathers actually was an athlete. Played in the NFL and CFL before he was an actor

Tom Hardy as an MMA fighter in Warrior is by far the best IMO.

BL w/his circus partner Nick Cravat
Pretty impressive agility for a guy his size.
He later played Jim Thorpe in a biopic and made a circus movie, Trapeze, where he allegedly did all his own stunts.

Robbie Benson...
#1 recruit in America
His coach was taller than him by far...and all the women in his office, by far.
But he would skip practice because he liked the titty.
Authentic athlete

I despise Robby Benson
But that's actually not a bad movie. The director, Lamont Johnson, was very good with actors -- IMHO at least on the least on the level of say, Sidney Lumet. Maybe even superior, as Johnson seldom allowed his actors to chew scenery.

Johnson started out as an actor. Ironically enough, he was pretty bad.

It's not a bad movie, the premise is just ridiculous given the actor they chose to star in it.
Robbie Benson...always seemed like when he acted his lines, he was staring at a Unicorn, in silent awe and humility.
He did make Running Brave and despite him (frick they should've cast someone decent) because Billy Mills was the real deal...
But Running Brave is still a good sports movie despite Robbie Benson. He wasn't so bad as Mills as he was as a supposed basketball star.

As for The Program, I always thought the injury scene was kind of weak. He jumps over the pulling guard and it comes down with a mangled leg. Like the guys helmet fricked his leg up like that??
It was a lesson to choose your spots for pre snap trash talk. He ended up being the poo butt motherfricker in the end.
