We'd all pay it. Not just you. And then we, as Americans, would all have access to doctors, regardless of our financial situation

If you think it's too expensive-- don't go to the hospital. If it's too expensive for you to pay, it's too expensive for all of us to pay too.

Please understand why it is important to know what a "right" is, for this is the very definition of Americanism.

Let's just go ahead and get this out of the way before I hit the sack. I know the difference between a right and a privilege, man.

If I say that the Constitution mandates that the federal government provide for the general welfare of the populace, that doesn't mean I am saying people have the right to those things. I'm saying that the government was given that mandate. Further that they do a poor job of discharging that duty, but as you said, that's another thread entirely.

The Constitution also mandates that the federal government protect our nation's borders, but there is no inherent right that the people have due to that mandate set forth in the Constitution.

What you have presented with this "rights vs privilege" debate is a straw man.

I had a friend who lived many years in Ireland. Said there was a 6 month wait to see a dentist for a routine checkup.

There was no other option. You want to see a dentist? 6 months. You also didn't get to pick the dentist you saw.

Keep importing millions of undocumented workers to increase supply of labor and work for less than minimum wage.

It’s not important that all those millions of people suppress the wages of all Americans, the lowest earners the most.

Sure, they increase supply of labor, decrease demand for labor and are willing to work for less than minimum wage, all of which artificially suppress wages.

They don’t pay taxes on their income since they’re undocumented, yet still receive medical care when needed despite not paying for it.

But hey, they vote for Democrats so it’s okay, right?

He has a fantasy crisis fixed by a fantasy health care system that allows us to see the exact same doctor's we do today for $300/ mo and no copay.

He's an especially useful puppet because he is impervious to facts

And the suits. You and I both know what the growth of bureaucracy has meant for this system we work in.

People advocating for more are insane.

No doubt. I thought it would be a little bit silly to complain about the extra beurocracy brought forth by the expansion or addition of a government healthcare system since I'm ragging the OP to produce any amount of evidence that costs to someone on a high-deductible plan wouldn't increase. But that said, frick every extra hoop they'll throw at us over whatever CMS thinks will be good next week.

If I didn't genuinely love what I did, I'd lobby my group to go with a real OK Surgery Center model. Here's the prices. They're online and on paper at the checkout window. You pay this. You can call your insurance company yourself and try to get out of them what they'll give you.
My office staff would be 1/3 of what it is. My headache would be 1/10 of what it is.

GFY. Don't tell me what I do and don't love.

Tired old strawman. No where did I say anyone should be deprived of anything. But if you aren't willing to generate what you're capable of doing yourself, why should others be given that burden? You've never even approached an answer to that question. And I doubt you will.

Excellent post.

But wrong.

There is no federal "mandate" for provision of healthcare.

Also, citizens (me) provide your healthcare. It is my profession. And no, you have no free "right" to my labor.

I have no right to yours.
