I don't know if I agree with Paul needing to step down or not, but if so..

I think LSU would need to explore all top options and make them say no. I would definitely look at Texas Tech and TCU coaches. Yes, I realize one is at his alumni, but you still make him say no. You never know with money and prestige. They would likely have even greater success at LSU (IMO).

This is still the ultimate baseball program.

There are several other coaches you make say no. People asking who would you replace him with? Okay? As if he is the only good coach around? LSU just replaced a similar HC with a guy virtually nobody wanted and look at the impact it had. As long as LSU athletics are established you can afford to make a change when needed.

If all else fails, as unpopular of an opinion as it may be, I would consider the "high school" coach in Andy Cannizaro. Yes, he did something incredibly stupid. I just can't see him doing it again, but I understand the risk. I think the reward could pay off huge though. In fact, I think LSU would be incredibly feared under him. I think he would take LSU to another level in recruiting (yes, I realize recruiting is still elite here.)

He would probably connect more with the players.

Again, I am not ready to fire Paul just yet. He does seem to get his teams rolling later in the season. Let's see.

Serious question. Is it the ultimate program?

I bet Texas and Norte dame think they are the ultimate football programs still, but time changes all things.

You think Tadlock will leave the success he has at his alma mater?

Jim Schlossnagle has it made at TCU as well

What people don’t understand is there are plenty of really good coaching jobs out there, you can make a name for yourself & have success without having to coach at LSU

LSU isn’t there best thing in the world of baseball anymore, times have changed & there are a lot of really good programs out there
