This is incredibly juvenile take on the issue. Often people are given pain killers by the doctors and become hooked on them. Opioids are often highly addictive and the pharmaceutical industry knows this. They want people addicted so they can sell more.
This also why you see an outbreak of heroin addictions among young white people in rich areas
