So, there's these 2 jews.....

Might listen to it later but what, exactly, is he defending?
Posted on 2/18/20 at 3:17 pm to skeeter531
Of course he is.
When Shapiro decides to be passionate and to take a strong stand on something it will always be for the wrong thing.
The word pseudo describes Shapiro to a T.

Did you actually listen?
He was defending Bloomberg's past statements (that were dropped by Bernie's people as a "hit") because they are fairly conservative. And now that he is running as a democrat, he is running from those statements.

If the subject was stop & frisk?

Stop and frisk, Terry stops, whatever you want to call them, violate the 4th Amendment regardless of which party supports it.

But Shapiro calls himself a libertarian.
How can this be?

Yes I listened to a chunk of it while in the car and he was defending the sentiments of Bloomberg's statements and saying they were taken out of context. He agreed with Bloomberg about denying cancer treatment to a 95 year old with prostate cancer, but in the beginning of that quote by Bloomberg, Bloomberg says "Health care is going to bankrupt us....etc" and then that "prostate cancer" comment comes up as part of his explanation of denying services. Well, seriously, is simply denying care for 95 year olds with prostate cancer going to un-bankrupt us??? NO....there are going to have to be more denials and age cutoffs than that of course but Bloomberg uses that one because it's easy to defend not providing care for a slow-moving cancer in a 95 year old....but it's that slippery slope of what ELSE we would have to accept in order to not have health care bankrupt us.
He defended the statements about the farmers as being time specific to farmers in the past....which I do get but he still comes off as arrogant and elitist IMO.

Sure, but to someone like Ben...and you didn't answer the question - do you actually think he wouldn't defend Trump if he supported broken windows policing, stop and fisk, terry stops etc?

I’ll answer.
No, I don’t think Shap would defend Trump.
I think he would stay silent.

Y’all are funny. Shapiro is likely voting for Trump this election and defends him more than he criticizes him. Also, I listened to the show today and he is right about a couple of those quotes being taken out of context. It doesn’t make Bloomberg a good candidate or president. He can be attacked unfairly and still be awful.

It's almost like they share some kind of tribal affiliation.
The fact that Ben Shapiro still has a conservative white audience is truly baffling.

I listened. I agreed with Ben in two points. The rest of Bloomberg’s comments goes along with this board (and myself) that kids raised without fathers are going to have a harder time ingratiating themselves into the work force. There’s not a soul on this board that doesn’t think the problems for inner city youth come from a break down in family structure.
Disagreed with Ben about farmers. The rest of Bloomberg’s comments is saying that farmers aren’t using a lot of grey matter is asinine and indefensible. It wasn’t said in the course “of time” and Bloomberg’s other comments calling city people intellectuals as opposed to those not in cities doesn’t back up Ben’s point.
Knowles didn’t have Ben’s take at all.
I had 4 hours in the car today so I did a lot of podcasting.

I don't have a huge problem with it. Bloomberg was fairly conservative until it didn't suit him. He can't run from it. Ben is pointing it out.
Also, maybe Ben knows any endorsement from him doesn't help Bloomberg with the Democrat base, anyway. It puts a stink on him.

The comment on farmers has no defense.
