Hard to see paying to money for Bell, Whiffer, and Lattimore and not even including maybe choosing from Eli or janoris

Let him walk. CGJ took his job anyway.

It’s a deep, strong safety FA class. Shouldn’t have to overpay for him or for a lateral move or for a minor upgrade or downgrade.

I like what he brings to the team, but they shouldn’t significantly overpay for him with the QB situation and other areas that need to be improved.

5 DBs will be played majority of the time, so another guy will be needed even with CGJ’s emergence.

I hopes it’s:

Latty
Jenkins
CGJ
Williams
Bell or an upgrade

He’s a top 7/8 SS in the league. Pay him market value or a shade under if he’d take it.

This is one of our more underrated players. Late in the season Bell was the #1 graded safety against the run. Although safeties have been getting paid more and more I’m just not sure I can see them giving him a big contract. If he’s willing to take a 4 year 38 mill with 20 guaranteed i think we’d do it.

Bell is an important player on this team. I watched his dad play high school ball...If he's half as mean as his dad, you keep him for his presence in the locker room and his on-field performance.

quote:

Adrian Amos signed a four year, $36 million contract with the Packers on March 12, 2019. Amos received $12 million in guarantees including an $11 million signing bonus

Amos is 26 and Bell is 25. PAY him a shade above that and he’s in the top 10 safety’s, which is fair. Love his football IQ, versatility, and always seems to be around the ball (sack on Scam Newton to seal the playoff game comes to mind). CSP has openly admitted that letting Malcolm Jenkins go was one of his biggest mistakes

Let MW walk next year

I don’t see a way we can keep Bell and it’s a shame because he is really really good. I think the Saints would love to get him for around 4 years $30 million but the fact is he’s most likely going to command something like $46-50 million over 4 years.

I'd pay him the least amount that would allow us to keep him.

I’d go no higher than 5.5 million per year.
