Filled out card at Bass Pro. Got call offering 3 nights at hotel, 5 day Carnival cruise for two and $75 gift card to Bass Pro. I normally just hang up but anyway.... All I have to do is pay $150 and take 2 hour tour of time share property. She gave hotel examples which I googled and they seem pretty nice. (NOLA, Vegas, Orlando, Branson, San ANtonio, etc) Tempting but I said no. Anyone participated in something like this?

Your information is being passed around like a she boy in Hong Kong and have fun with the high pressure time share pitch. Not saying it's not legit but prepare yourself

People will come on here and tell you it’s fake and a scam but a lot of companies do this and if you don’t mind sitting through their time share presentation for like 10% of your trip it’s a real vacation. A lot of the companies even pay back that $150 at the end if you go to everything they want you to. Now the question is do you mind sitting through the presentation and being asked/pressured to buy in?

The catch is $150, 2 hours of your time, and your financial info.

Hey man. Carnival cruise is a fine week of getting shithouse drunk with your friends while getting the best trashy people watching outside of Mardi Gras.

If you can’t have a good time on a carnival cruise, you’re the problem

I would never buy into a time share, some people like it but it's not for me, but when I used to go to Maui a lot there was a time share huckster that would give you two free tix to what was considered to be the best luau on the island if you'd listen to his spiel, he provided snacks and Mai Tais, worth it to me a few times(took about to hours)

Watch the episode "Asspen" for South Park and it will tell you everything you need to know.

Not sure about the cruise part, but I have some dumb family members who have been roped into the timeshare business

My parents will use them to take trips very cheap/free with the organization of time shared they bought into

Basically, they discount the stay if you come for the timeshare pitch, which is fricking brutal. It’s hours long, bright and frickin early, and they are ruthless and pushy. But the get around is if you pay in cash for the room and don’t leave a credit card on file, they can’t charge you full price for skipping out on the meeting

I’ve heard the actual meeting is not worth the cheap place to stay at all

I'v heard about these and still can't understand how they make the time share meetings 2 or more hours long. Do they just go through every single timeshare opportunity in the country or something?

You're dealing with pros. These are the kinds of people that can sell anything. Especially once you're trapped on the cruise. Because you know, the implication.
