We still have numbnuts on this site who doubt or criticize Coach O before even giving his decisions a chance. You gotta be a miserable loser to not be able to enjoy what the past 5 months have given you.

It’s possible to enjoy last season and still have doubts about things that happen in the future.
If it weren’t then Les Miles would still be our coach

In what job does success inhibit any criticism?

Horrible hire, three runs and a cloud of dust,

Exactly man I’m pretty every question fans are acting like Coach O didn’t do his due diligence. Either Linehan is a great liar or Coach believes he can be innovative. The guy had a whole year off from football. I like the hire

Miles won a championship and then hired Mallo-veto as DC.

He's entitled to the benefit of the doubt until he's not.
Everyone need to calm their tits.

This is, like, normal.
Having a great year at a business doesn't mean that the next year will easily be good again. O deserves the benefit of the doubt for now, but past successes don't always correlate to future successes. There may not even be a better chance. You have to take things as they are.
The issue is, how quickly it has changed. The exodus of coaches is a huge concern, and filling their shoes is a big, big task in some cases.

I mean the hire is very blah. I don’t think it’s a good fit.

Sean Payton’s three years in NY, his offenses ranked 19th on average, and got worse every year he was there.
Then his two seasons in Dallas before getting the Saints gig, those offenses ranked 22nd on average, and again, they got worse while he was there.
He sucks!!
That’s basically what the geniuses on this board are doing.

Yeah I haven’t seen anyone calling for Os head here. Simply expressing trepidation on the hire.
Find it weird that that is not allowed for some people.

My point is fans had no idea what analysts did before Brady. We lost him. O is now hiring ex NFL coordinators over 29 year olds who ran a camp for him last year. How can anyone know? I respect opinions, but there are no facts from unqualified people. We will see.

False equivalency fallacy

Good thing he’s PGC and not the RGC or the OC.

Garbage hire
HOpe im wrong, but i cant find one positive thing about this man that a former player said! He is not well liked by former players, and he is the anti innovative coach accd to his past

Are people allowed to have a visceral reaction to anything around here or not?
I think people are reacting the way they are precisely because of the hire he made last year. He went young and innovative, out of his comfort zone. Linehan isn't that.
Brady was an inspired hire because he had no history. This appears to be lacking in imagination. We know what Linehan can do because we can see his coaching record, and that doesn't exactly capture the imagination.

TBH I don't think the Linehan hire is that bad (it isn't good either, it's very very blah). He has a decent resume, even with some unspectacular results.
However, 1) People worrying or not liking the moves is totally fair, these are big, big changes because the success in 2019 was so dang clear. And 2) This "retained knowledge" thing is hogwash. The hire could work out. But this idea that Brady gave the staff enough knowledge in one year to run this for the foreseeable future is laughable. If it were that easy people would hire OC consultants for smaller than current top line salaries, then hire a cheaper option to "run the retained knowledge." But they don't because...you ALWAYS need the guy who knows the thing, knows how to build and run a thing, to run it long term. And that goes for everything, not just football. We may see Brady concepts in 2020...but I'd guess the offense looks completely different by 2021. And I mean, no resemblance whatsoever.
Again, this goes doubly for a situation where the idea is to break the thing down every week.
you can get away with running a business team on a model far longer because it can probably run on its own. At some point it will need tweaks, but not often. Offenses have to change frequently.

quote:its a terrible fit, if he knew the concepts Brady set up he'd have been using them, so not only can he not help us there, he also has no experience recruiting. people are laughing at this shite, thank god it came after signing day.

Canada was shite. Ems was shite until Brady got here, now we just went from genius to moron at PGC.
its very possible we just went 1 and out.
