‘We should take our supplies and go back home. Let the Chinese virus rampage through the ranks of the GT and the rest of the Communist Party.’
quote:
That’s hedge-fund manager Kyle Bass taking aim at Hu Xijin, editor-in-chief of the Communist Party-backed Global Times daily newspaper, in a now-deleted tweet cited by Bloomberg on Sunday.
Bass, chief investment officer of Hayman Capital Management, was responding to a tweet from Xijin in which he was complaining about U.S. aid arriving late.
quote:
Bass, even after deleting his tweet, said he wouldn’t apologize. “You arrested, censured, and ‘punished’ (only God knows what you did to him and the other 7 doctors) the heroes of Wuhan,” he tweeted. “You are a disgrace to humanity.”
He later called Global Times a “simple belligerent tabloid designed to stir controversy with western media and commentators.”
When asked by Bloomberg why he deleted the tweet, he said in a statement he “felt that it was too harsh for the rank and file” of the Global Times, but that he will “never apologize to a self-righteous, attempted manipulator of public opinion.”

I’m becoming more and more convinced that this was a bioweapon that the Chinese military was testing.
There are 1.5 billion Chinese. Test the weapon on your own populace, kill off some of that excess. Win/win.

Yeah, I think the comments were a little out of line too.
I mean, don't get me wrong, frick the Chinese Government. They're terrible. But if this disease is hurting citizens of China in general we need to help them fight it.
It's especially maddening considering its looking more and more like the Chinese Government appears to have unleashed this virus on their own people.

Based on the intelligence gathered so far, Miles Guo explained that the original goal was to use the virus to infect selective people in Hong Kong, so that the Chinese Communist Party could use it as an excuse to impose martial law there and ultimately crush the Hong Kong pro-democracy movement. But it backfired terribly.

Yeah, I just do not see the U.S. responsibility to help the Chinese when the Chinese have been less than honest through this entire process...
If anything, the fricks should get on their knees and beg for assistance...

They're the second largest economy in the world.
Why in the frick should we send them any aid?

Well, we don't have any obligation to obviously, but I would much rather help them how we can than tell them we hope their people all die. That's just not something I would personally ever consider telling anyone. It would make me feel like frickin Hitler or something.
I feel like if people are hurting, someone should help them. Unfortunately for these people they can't expect help from their own Government because it's their own Government is the ones hurting them. It's outrageous and the America I grew up envisioning is better than wishing death upon millions.
ETA: furthermore, something like a deadly virus is something that can easily end up affecting people outside of China. Right now it seems to be containing itself to the Asian population, but theres nothing saying this thing couldn't mutate and jump over to everyone else.
These sorts of outbreaks should actually be combatted by every country in the world that is capable of helping.

Ok, and the rest of the world is where and doing what?

Agreed, they should ask North Korea or maybe Iran for some assistance...
quote:

So, we should ride in on the white horse and save them? Rich given their government bitching about the aid that has been provided and the manner in which it has been provided...

The problem with not helping, is that crap will spread. China cannot contain it's border in and out. I'd rather squash this thing and choose another opportunity to stick it to them.

Funny how quick things can change. I mentioned just two days ago that I read something like that and got mocked for it. I still don't know for sure it's true but I wouldn't be surprised considering the Chinese government.
Which not so coincidentally is the type of government the left wing dreams of.
