Bet they wreck again with just two car on track.
We're not far from a Talladega Night's foot race to decide the winner.
ETA - Michael Waltrip is out of breath and fighting with track officials.

No one will be using their Clash car as a Daytona 500 backup.

This is beyond a cluster frick.
Hamlin was two laps down coming to the white and is going to get a top 5, isn’t he?
Eta: Michael Waltrip as a pit reporter is hilarious. Never cared for him in the booth, but this is great.

About 20 new race cars being loaded up in Charlotte to head south to Daytona

If this sticks and Kyle Busch wrecks out of many races, there's going to be some great moments.
Kyle looked ready to smack the shite out of him today and it's an exhibition.

It would help if they'd get the cars off the ground and get rid of the splitters
Go back to the air dams. Did you see how much turf they dug out of that 22?

Hahahahahaha Eric Jones wins in a destroyed race car.
Austin Dillon literally had the only intact car left, and still lost.

Holy shite. Jones just won with a car that looks like it hit a horse

That’s a pretty damaged race car but it’s heading to victory lane.
Posted on 2/9/20 at 4:13 pm to tWildcat
How the hell did he even stay up to speed with that aerodynamic disaster?
Posted on 2/9/20 at 4:13 pm to FightinTigersDammit
His hood was hanging on by a thread

My wife hit a deer and did 10k worth of damage last month and it didn’t look as bad as a car that just went 200 mph.

Hamlin is going to be hard to beat next Sunday. That was impressive.

1. I’d run a back up car in the duals 2. The 500 will be a gigantic shite show the last 15 laps.

Austin has so little talent he can't win when he's the only one of five undamaged cars.
Mikey is still an idiot but gotta admit he was entertaining today.

If you run your back your back up car in the duels, it's your Daytona 500 car unless you go out and wreck it and can't fix it.

Wait until you see what NASCAR does next year........ The rules changes are huge.
Yep. The new generation of car debuting next year will be smaller, off the ground, no splitter, has 18" wheels, hood vents, etc. I can't wait until they throw this junk in the garbage and never have to see it again. The new generation car has potential to bring this sport back to the racing of the 70s and 80s.

Hopefully they truly do get rid of the splitter and get the cars off the ground. I'm not saying that would solve all problems, but it should help to get rid of aero dependency.
