I remember playing this on the beach back in the day but am struggling to remember the rules.

There’s a game pronounced boo-ray you may be thinking. Ante in, dealer deals everyone 5 cards then turns next card over, that suit is trump suit. Here you can fold or bet, discard unwanted cards for new ones, and then basically play it out like spades, again with that turn card being trump.

Bourre ’
Played a lot of Bourre’ and Rook as a kid in the ‘60s and ‘70s while staying or hanging out at different camps along South Pass including a place called Turtle Cove near Lake Pontchartrain and along the Tickfaw river. Also a camp on the Tangipahoa River.
A long time ago and the camp houses just like the Florida beach houses of that time were very simple.
