He’s in a hotbed of recruiting. Within 5-6 hours of Athens is a majority of the nations top players.

Georgia has a problem holding on to their players. if you look at their 2018 #1 recruiting class, 7 of their top recruits either transferred or is transferring this year.

UGA spends about three times the amount of money relative to LSU on recruiting. However, it doesn't matter cause Kirby can't coach up his talent or even manage a damn football game.

Nonetheless, LSU needs to very significantly increase the amount of money it budgets for recruiting to keep pace. As Ed O needs to significantly increase the number of people on his staff dedicated to recruiting.

I see that on here a good bit, but man, Athens is really nice.
The Georgia road trip has always been my favorite.

I went to LSU because it was love at first sight, but objectively, UGA is pretty damn attractive.

How does a coach keep pulling talent to a school who has had a top ten recruiting class every year since 2011 top 6 in the last 5 or 6 years (under Rcht as well as Kirby). A school that has won their division 5 of the last q0 years and the sec twice and been to the CFP championship game.

In that same period LSU has won their division twice, though they did win the SEC both times and o championship games winning the one this year. Prior to 2109, Georgia would have looked just as or more atteactive than LSU.

Georgia fans will tell you the same thing LSU (and Notre Dame and any number of other colleges) fans used to say “Georgia recruits itself”. Of course that’s not really true, but there is a kernel of truth to all of that. It recruiting momentum, which often outruns outcome. And there is him state/home school loyalties in play for schools like Georgia and LSU, though I don’t think it as strong as that once was.

What you are seeing at Georgia now is momentum. 2 or 3 more years of underperforming or Florida starting to win the bulk of the Easter division titles and that will drop off, maybe dramatically and maybe not.
