Where’s the best place to grab a good king cake tomorrow afternoon in BR?

I feel like I have heard that Calandro’s has a good king cake before.

You heard right but sooner than later some jackass is going to come along and recommend buying one from Rosch or Nanette that you have to order a week out. I’m not saying they’re bad cakes but if you need one tomorrow, I recommend Calandro’s.

I don’t care for Calandro’s King cakes. They are too dry and not enough flavor. Recently had a homemade king cake my wife’s friend made and it was the best I ever had. But store bought, ambrosia is very good.

King Cake Queen! You're welcome.

Ambrosia is the best...along with everything else...

Had the ambrosia one yesterday. It isn’t bad at all.
I’m a calandros guy though. I think I’ve tasted at least 5 of them so far. We’ve had a couple at the house and a couple of buddies had them as well. None were dry and or lacked flavor.
Rouses on the other hand are dry.
My official list (don’t no much about the NOLA ones)
Dong Phuong (there is a way to get them here sometimes)
Calandros
Ambrosia

Calandro's is a nice go-to
Bergeron's City Market on Jefferson has a brown sugar cinammon king cake that is phenomenal as well

Legit, Robert's on Highland blows Calandro's out the water. I recommend the Bavarian cream!

Calandro's or Oak Point if you want to drive out to central

I'm partial to Calandro's. But I live within walking distance of the Government Street store. Rouses has good king cakes, if you are closer to them.
